EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

MATURITY: Joined the U.S. Air Force one week after graduation from secondary school at 17 years of age (1954) and served honorably after a 3 year tour in France with a skill as a armament and demolition specialist, and later a machinist.  I served in the United States Army Reserves as a Chief Warrant Officer Three (CW3) in the area of Military Police and Counterintelligence Agent (MOS 351B) for some 17 years, now retired.  Served as the deputy United States Marshal in the so-called “Chicago 8” trial, deputy in charge of in-courtroom security and served as chief deputy United States Marshal in charge of the so-called “Fountain Valley 5” trial in St. Croix, Virgin Islands.  The first of a group to be titled Court Security Coordinators deputy United States Marshal responsible for Judicial Security for the Northern District of Ohio. An original planner and actuary in the placement of Anti-Air Piracy efforts at the O’Hara Airport in Chicago monitoring assignment and performance and served as a deputy United States Marshal in St. Louis, Chicago, Cleveland, and chief deputy U. S. Marshal, Virgin Islands, Detroit and Houston before retiring.

Wrote the proposed organization structure for the startup of the Virgin Islands Housing Police and provided budget, salary tables, assignment and authority parameters which were successfully implemented.  And, most recently, I caused an inventory and devised a potential budget, an organizational chart and revised the investigator’s manual assisted by staff of the Virgin Islands Drug Enforcement Agency. 

COMMUNICATIVE SKILLS: Completed graduate level Speech, Behavioral Science Research, Forensics, Statistics and Budget courses in-residence at the FBI National Academy and completed more than 40 graduate semester credit hours, now expired hours, towards a Masters Degree in Education Administration at the University of the Virgin Islands, absent thesis presentation.  Guest-lectured at many universities and other institutions to include a seminar at the Joseph Gomez Elementary School staff, Dr. Newton, principal, and recently participated in an ecumenical dialogue at All Saints Cathedral Church with Rector Brooks wherein Christianity, Judaism and Islam were discussed, more than 100 audience participants..

CHARACTER EXAMPLES: member of Rotary International, Rotary II, St. Thomas, a free lance writer having published many articles, a book through, Krim’s Simplistic Philosophies, Vantage Press, Inc., New York (1988).  Life member of Girl Scouts of America; an Honorary Member of the Mark Twain Society, Missouri, life member of Disable American Veterans; life member of the Reserve Officers Association; Life member American Legion, presently Post Commander, 2006-07 and life member American Military Retirees Association.  Also, I am a member of the Royal Institute of Philosophers and am an Emeritus member of the American Philosophical Association, Delaware.

PUBLICATIONS:  Krim's Simplistic Philosophies....a handbook in simplistic philosophies, published by Vantage Press, Inc., New York, 1988.  Many articles with the St. Croix Avis Newspaper as a weekly editorial columnist, articles published in the St. Thomas Daily News Newspaper in the Guest Editorial Section, weekly editorial columnist for the Virgin Islands Business Journal, articles in the Advocate, a police bulletin in New York wherein I was listed as a Caribbean Editor-at-large.  Many unpublished manuscripts.
